Home Is Where The Heart Is
This series of photos were taken at The Bethesda Project in South Philadelphia. I spent a few weeks volunteering with the men who live there. I ate dinner with them, I served them meals, and I listened to their stories. I got to know some of the men really well. They taught me how to play checkers, which was a really fun experience.
These men have important lives and stories that go unheard. I wanted to learn more about them because I was curious about the humanity that I knew existed behind unfortunate situations. I chose this subject matter because I have a personal connection to it, even though it may not be exactly the same, it is real, and it feels calamitous.
